Role: Video Conferencing Product Manager
This role reports to the Group Product Manager for Media Services products within a leading global investment bank.
This Product Manager role is to ensure a product roadmap is created and executed for the Multimedia Broadcasting and Streaming product on a global basis. The product area includes all video and audio live and on-demand webcasting, digital media publishing/ storage and retrieval, digital signage, IPTV, TV channel and other live content acquisition.
Encompassed by this role are product strategy, planning and delivery as well as technology lifecycle, financial, risk and vendor management. Product Managers must understand their environment (customer needs and wants, competitors, partners, etc.) and their core competencies. They must also continuously assess and prioritize demand against established roadmaps and future investment plans.
Candidates would have an excellent understanding of the key industry drivers, and understand the key manufacturers’ portfolio and go to market strategies.
The candidate would need to develop a cohesive roadmap for their products, working with Group Product Manager for Media Services, Product Managers of converging Unified Communication technologies, key IT/Business stakeholders to better understand the current business drivers and level of integration that would be required with existing platforms.
We would expect the candidate to have a good technical appreciation of the Rich Media and Collaboration market, in order to have a better appreciation of where the platform may need to have integration points with other areas such as Videoconferencing and Telepresence, Web portals, Enterprisesearch and such like.
Partner with other product managers in Technology Advisory Groups ensuring collective singular approach to solution building (i.e Unified Communications strategy delivering corporate recording and repository solution for all communication tools)
Partner with the Interactive Media team to ensure any Multimedia solutions are aligned to corporate internet and intranet strategies.
Partner with Client Web and Enterprise Search teams
Global travel as requested and flexibility to work across international time zones.
Prerequisites
- Experience in designing Digital Media Storage Networks (Cisco DMS/ Show & Share product experience a plus)
- Experience and recent accreditations in the Microsoft arena, specifically able to demonstrate competencies in Windows Media Storage Servers.
- Understanding of underlining infrastructure pre-requisites
- Good project management based competencies, ideally Price accredited
- Practical experience with designing and buildingEnterprisegrade Webcasting solutions
- Specific experience in designing operational workflow to support on demand and live webstreams
- A good understanding of the Collaboration and Rich Media market
- Ability to engage and capture requirements directly from the business
- Ability to influence an operational workflow to introduce further efficiencies.
- Excellent business management skills, inclusive of the ability to communicate with senior executives related to technology solutions
- Strong leadership skills of teams that do not directly report to this role
- Global and strategic mindset with proven problem solving skills
- Vendor management and negotiation skills – bring together multiple vendors to provide integrated solutions
- Financial management, cost determination and investment planning expertise
- Excellent knowledge of end-to-end IT operations, application and infrastructure landscape for their assigned product/platform
